Mary-Kate Olsen, the unlikely participant in the ongoing investigation into actor Heath Ledger’s untimely death, is seeking immunity from the federal investigators.
The tiny one and her relationship with the late Ledger has been under speculation since his death revealed the possibility that the two were more than just friends for months before Heath passed away. It was Mary-Kate that answered the call when Ledger’s masseuse found the actor unconscious and cold in his bedroom on January 22, 2008. Ledger was later confirmed to have died of a drug overdose and now the feds want to know where the drugs came from and are turning to Mary-Kate for the answers.
Few knew that one half of the Olsen duo was even involved romantically with Ledger, who had only recently broken off his engagement to actress and babymama, Michelle Williams. It's been reported that Williams was the one who ended the relationship due to Ledger’s struggle to stay clean.
Olsen’s rep released a statement rebuffing reports that she had information pertaining to the drugs found inside Ledger’s home at the time of his death. The statement goes on to say that Mary-Kate has only been asked to reveal relevant information concerning the timeline surrounding the time of his death. However, seeking immunity sheds a brighter light on MK’s possible involvement and/or knowledgement of what Heath was into, as far as drugs were concerned. It was Olsen’s own personal security members that were dispatched to Ledger’s home following the phone call from the masseuse. In fact, there were several phone calls between the help and Olsen before 911 was even called to the scene.
Mary-Kate is no stranger to drama herself. She has been involved in rehabilitation in the past for what was described as an eating disorder. However, many rumors swirled that is was cocaine that was really eating away at her. Both sisters remain in the tabloid spotlight for their unusual choices in fashion and their hard partying, late night ways. Requesting immunity from the investigators seems to signal a red flag that MK knows a lot more than she would have us believe.
